Normal is boring.
"How's the pregnancy going?" was the most innocent question that had the most complicated answer.
Our daughter, Norah, is our first child so, to be fair, we had no idea what it would be like like to experience a 'normal' pregnancy.
We had planned for 'normal'. As far as I was concerned, I was going to have natural birth, supported by my husband, Lane, midwives and a doula at a local freestanding birth center. *Puts on floral crown and dances around to drums*
Norah - "Ha. No."
Unbeknownst to us, Norah was in cahoots with God, writing her own story – one which nobody predicted; one that is far from 'normal'.
And for some reason, God has chosen us to help tell that story.
Norah was born on March 1st, 2017, as a spunky, chunky baby girl who was the spitting image of her father. She also happened to be born with with Trisomy 13, causing her time with us to be limited to only 5 beautiful days.
Some would assume that Norah's story would end with her life on earth, but we truly believe that her story will never be 'finished' — she wouldn't let it be that simple. Poke around these posts for a bit, and you'll see what I mean.
Norah has touched the lives of countless people, her little life having a much greater impact on this world than we could've ever imagined.
She's still teaching us that God is good and normal is boring.
